A Warzone dev explained the reasoning behind not adding Redeploy Balloons to the Verdansk remake.
Call of Duty introduced Redeploy Balloons to Warzone in 2022. They allow players to launch into the air and were commonly used to escape the circle, fight, or catch a team off guard.
In 2023, Warzone rebranded the feature as Redeploy Drones on Ashika Island and Al Mazrah, which functioned the same. However, players could also carry the Drones in their inventory and use them whenever they wanted, and the Drones moved to different locations for each circle.

Actipis explained why: “We’re removing Redeploy Ballons in battle royale so we can put the strategy back in traveling around the map and using vehicles or using movement in an intelligent kind of way,” Actipis said.

“The only way to make them as impactful as they needed to be was to completely rebalance the handling and how damage worked to vehicles so vehicle control and maneuverability is more like what it was in 2020,” Actipis explained.
As a result, players will feel smoother turns and better off-roading while driving vehicles in Season 3. And it wouldn’t be Verdansk without the original vehicles, so the devs brought back the Cargo Truck, ATV, Tac Rover, and classic helicopter.
